Standing at 3,009 meters, Jebel Shams is the highest mountain in Oman and part of the Al Hajar Mountains. Known as the "Mountain of the Sun," it overlooks Wadi Ghul, Oman's Grand Canyon. The trek to the summit can be challenging, taking around 8-10 hours.
 
The route includes steep climbs, rock scrambling, and exposure to the sun, but the breathtaking views of the canyon and surrounding landscape make it worthwhile. There are also shorter hikes, like the Balcony Walk, for less experienced trekkers.
