Mount Ech Chambi
Jebel ech Chambi is the highest mountain in Tunisia, rising to 1,544 meters above sea level and standing as a prominent symbol of the country's natural heritage. Located near the city of Kasserine in western Tunisia, this majestic peak is part of the Atlas Mountain range and lies within the boundaries of Chambi National Park—a UNESCO-designated biosphere reserve. Rich in biodiversity, the mountain is home to rare wildlife such as Cuvier’s gazelle and Barbary sheep, as well as dense forests of Aleppo pine and endemic plant species.
While its beauty and ecological significance make it a remarkable destination, Jebel ech Chambi has also been a restricted military zone in recent years due to security concerns, limiting public access and preserving its untamed character.
