Mount Tahat

Mount Tahat is the highest mountain in Algeria, located in the Hoggar Mountains in the southern part of the country. Standing at 2,918 meters, this peak offers a unique desert trekking experience. The rugged landscape is marked by dramatic volcanic formations, deep gorges, and ancient rock art.

The region is also home to the nomadic Tuareg people, who have lived in the area for centuries. Hikers often start from Tamanrasset, the main city in the region, before embarking on a multi-day trek to the summit. The hike is moderately difficult, but the stunning desert scenery and the sense of isolation make it an unforgettable adventure.
